Diablo
The peaks of Mt. Diablo and the surrounding foothills make the perfect background for the Marsh Creek Watershed. Bob Larson - STAFFNESTLED between Danville and Blackhawk, Diablo sits at the base of Mount Diablo, for which it is named.

Diablo was established in the early 1900s as a summer vacation area for San Francisco residents who wanted to escape the fog. It eventually grew into a year-round residential community with its own post office.

Diablo’s past is reflected in area homes, which range from mansions to summer cottages. Residents are fierce about maintaining the eclectic feel and closely inspect any proposed development.
